This common ‘thorn tree’ grows in abundance in our part of the Eastern Cape. Known for their long white thorns and yellow flowers, these trees are the preferred food source of our beautiful giraffes, who manage to maneuver their long tongues around the sharp thorns to get to the tasty leaves🦒🍃

Buffs in the flood plains🐃🌿

We’ve had nearly 100mm of rain over the last week or two! Our dams are over flowing, the roads are sludgey and the flood plains are back to their glorious selves, alive with the sounds of frogs and insects. This particular flood plain was completely dry just a few days ago. It’s now a haven for the buffalo, who hide out in the tall reeds🌾
